Here's a peek at my studio aka dining room studio. It's full of rolls of paper for an animation that is allllmoooosssst finished! It will be used for the U of M Nature-Based Therapeutics program's international Research Round Table. I'll send a link when it is all finished.
It was fun to use a long 80' roll of rice paper for the background. Not exactly a continuous landscape but it kept the story line in order. All of the puppets are made of rice paper and ink and colored with PanPastels.
Signe, my daughter had an almost sold out first show at a local coffee shop. Yay!
Now we are working on a show that will be at the Children's Theater Minneapolis from Feb 11 to March 3. Signe's work will be mixed media and mine will be rice paper and sumi ink colored with PanPastels. We are basing it on a story about winter, trolls and ice cream! I added a little peek at one of the illustrations below.
I will also have some work at Foxglove on Grand Avenue in St. Paul in February. Foxglove is a beautifully decorated gift and floral shop. You will fall in love with it. My work will be up the whole month of February. That work will be iPad drawings with some of them printed on canvases.
We would love for you to check out the shows! We are having a fun start to the year!
Here's to art and apps that make any Minnesota winter dining room look balmy, Lisa
